Madden NFL 13 Online Connected Career Season 2 Rules

by Alan

With the first season in the books, I want to congratulate our two Alan Bowl Champions Gr8northwest (49ers – League 1) and VinnieMac (Steelers – League 2) as well as everyone who participated in the league throughout the Inaugural Season. I had a ton of fun and hopefully you did to.

With this being my first Online Connected Career I learned a lot of things. First of all, it’s really hard to get some people to play their games. And secondly, people will take advantage of anything they can to win. Therefore, I wanted to update the rules for Season 2 to enforce a more ‘Sim’ type of gameplay that will be fun for everyone.

Here is the User Spreadsheet which contains all the owners info.

Management Rules

-The league advances 3 days a week. These days are Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 10 Eastern time. Preseason weeks advance every day (4 pre season weeks = 4 days).

-The offseason will advance at the same pace, and ALL owners will be notified by PM when the off-season week advances. This is my first off-season, so it might be a bit slow the first time.

-Quitting a user or cpu game because you are losing equals an automatic boot from the league. I have no time for quitters and it screws up the stats.

-If you schedule a game with another user and don’t show up within 10 minutes of the scheduled time, you forfeit the game and will get the boot for missing your game that week.

-***If you don’t play your game during a week without giving me a reason, you will get the boot. There is zero tolerance to this rule and NO ONE is safe from it. Including my close friends and MODS of the channel. If you can’t make it that week, you must let me know at the start of the week so I can put you on Auto-Pilot. If you let me know 10 minutes before the league week advances and don’t play your game that week, you will get the boot.***

-Everyone who gets booted is eligible to rejoin the league at a later time, granted they agree to play by the rules.

-All User vs. User trades are fair game. I’m hoping common sense will prevail here.

-All CPU vs. User trades have to be approved by me. CPU-User trades will be turned off by default. You must provide a player of equal OVERALL value to receive a player of the same calibre when trading with the CPU.

-Sliders will be adjusted each and every week to provide the best sim-type gameplay. I am open to suggestions for sliders.

-Players on the waiting list are not guaranteed to get into the league. Players are also chosen as I see fit, not on a first come first serve basis.

-Both League 1 and League 2 will continue Season 2 as is. I may have to combine them down the road in later seasons if interest in the league slows down. I certainly hope that doesn’t happen.

Gameplay Rules

-No going for it on 4th down. Only exception to this rule: You can go for it on 4th and 2 within 40 yards of the opposing teams goal-line as well as in the last 2 minutes of each half.

-You may not hurry up more than twice in a row. Exception to this rule: You may hurry up as much as possible within the last 2 minutes of each half.

-Lineman must remain in their respective position on the line before the snap. No dropping him out into coverage or using him as an LB before the ball is snapped.

-You can only fake a field goal once per game.

-No nano blitz cheese whatsoever. None, zero, zip!

-Each winner of each League gets 1600 MSP.

-If you go all the way with the Browns, you get something special!

That is all for now. I hope to have a succesful season two and maybe we will see the amazing Colts go all the way this year!

Thanks for playing and have fun!
