Surprise. Surprise. No more 1v100 season 3 on Xbox Live. This really sucks. I wasn’t a huge fan of this game, but it was always fun to hop into a game with some friends to answer some bad trivia. I’m actually surprised on why are cancelling it. On most nights they had well over 50000 people and most, if not all the prizes were MS points or some cheap arcade game. Granted, it was still incredibly hard to either get chosen as the one or one hundred, it was still fun trying to be the best player in the mob. I’m pretty sure I’m not the only one slightly disappointed by this news.
Anyways, here’s Microsoft’s official statement from Kotaku,
“When we started on this journey, we knew we were creating an entirely new genre of entertainment that would be a continually evolving concept,” said Dave McCarthy, General Manager, Microsoft Game Studios. “We’re very proud of the ‘1 vs 100′ team and their accomplishments, and are excited to apply what we’ve learned to future programming.”
I can’t really imagine what other type of game show they could do that would have as much as an impact as 1v100 had. Most game shows out there right now involve no more than 10 players playing at a time, that’s what made 1v100 so perfect. Hopefully they can think of something, otherwise I’m sure they are going to have quite a few unhappy customers.
